Marcus Clinch

Career

Marcus has worked as a foreign lawyer in Taiwan since 2000 including approximately sixteen years in private practice and eight inhouse. He previously served as a supervisor (4 years), a director (2 years), and the president (1 year) of another foreign organiation in Taiwan. He worked in support of the UK/EU alcohol industry in Taiwan over a sixteen year period including co-chairing/chairing the ECCT Beverage Alcohol Committee from 2007 – 2016, joining the ECCT Annual Open Door Mission to the European Commission in Brussels from 2010 to 2015 working on issues of concern to the industry as well as on broader Taiwan-EU trade issues, and briefing foreign trade offices, foreign trade associations, and government delegations. He is now Director of Legal for a multi-national company in Taiwan.

Contribution to the Chamber

Marcus participated in the 16th UK-Taiwan Bilateral Trade Talks, November 2011 on behalf of UK industry and actively supported the now British Office Taipei’s efforts to strengthen and protect the market in Taiwan for UK beverage alcohol until moving to his current job in 2016. Marcus has served as BCCTaipei Director from 2010 to 2020. While a director, he served stints on the Membership Committee and the St. Andrews Day Ball Committee and worked in support of the BCCTaipei’s CSR and charitable activities. He has served as a supervisor since 2020.
